My drawings, most of which are done in ink, were originally influenced by my undergraduate studies in biology. My artwork is inspired by nature, including the wilderness of the southwest and northeast. Most of my works are abstract landscapes, seascapes and still lives. I am also fascinated by spiritual themes that can be portrayed through nature and symbols. I am attracted to brilliant colors and strong contrasts as well as repeating and synergistic patterns. These create a sense of dimensionality and movement designed to draw the viewer into my work.
