My drawings, most of which are done in ink, were originally influenced by my undergraduate studies at Mt. Holyoke College, where I majored in biology. My artwork is inspired by nature, including wilderness of the southwest and northeast. I love drawing abstract landscapes and seascapes. I am also fascinated by spiritual themes that can be portrayed through nature and symbols. I am attracted to brilliant colors and strong contrasts as well as repeating and synergistic patterns. These create a sense of dimensionality and movement designed to draw the viewer into my work. |
