This appears on the back of the card: Hex signs were first brought to America by German immigrants who settled in Eastern Pennsylvania. They were thought to bring good luck, protection, abundance and fortune to those who decorated their barns with them. These note cards are based on interpretations of traditional designs. The Rosette is the most basic element of hex sign design and is a symbol for good luck. The scalloped border represents smooth sailing. The red color signifies strength.
